Assen BSB - 'It's good to be back' - Haga
01/01/1970
Rapid Solicitors Kawasaki’s Noriyuki Haga made his MCE British Superbike debut for the Penrith-based PBM team at Assen, and the Samurai of Slide is happy to be back in the BSB paddock.
Haga joined the team as a replacement for Keith Farmer who is recovering from injury and a virus. Following a positive test at Snetterton last week the former World Superbike rider continued to work well for his new team and finished race one in a creditable fifth place.
But like his team-mate, Shane Byrne he was caught up in a crash in race two. Milwaukee Yamaha’s Tommy Bridewell lost the front end and took Haga down with him on lap four. The racing veteran is now concentrating on the next round at Silverstone and is pleased with the progress he has made after only one weekend.
"It was good to be back racing again and thanks to the PBM team for the opportunity. We are still working with the bike and we made some good progress in race one. In race two, I was feeling strong and then Bridewell crashed and took me out. This is racing and I'm looking forward to the next meeting now," said Haga.
