01/01/1970
The NGM Mobile Forward racing concludes the 13th round of the season with a CRT podium finish with their FTR – Kawasaki bike at the Misano Grand Prix.
MotoGP rider Colin Edwards qualified yesterday as 2nd best CRT, starting today’s race from the 14th position on the starting grid. After a good start the American rider took the lead of the CRT race after ART rider Espargaro was penalized with a ride through the pits after he jump-start the race. Edwards was able to keep a very consistent race pace and keep the distance with the Spanish rider up to the very end and finished for the firs time this season as best CRT.
The team has been making very consistent improvements throughout the last races that seem to allow the team to hope for consistent results for the remainder of the season. The next round will take place in two weeks time at the Circuito de Motorland in Aragón.
Colin Edwards: “In the last few weeks our performance has been getting better and better and this weekend we’ve made another small change to the rear suspension side that made it even better. The race went good from the beginning; I had no idea Espargaro had jump the start and then I saw +8, +7.45 and I didn’t understand what was going on and then it kind of clicked that I was on the lead. He had been going good all weekend and I just assumed he was out there with the guys. Then I put my head down and did all I could to stay in front of him. He tried to track me down there at the end but we put some good laps together, the bike is working good. Thanks to Team Forward, NGM, all my guys and the sponsors, it’s been fun watching the improvement and I look forward to some more.”
