Haslam prepares for new title challenge with Aprilia

LEON HASLAM is chasing a first World Superbike Championship title in
2015 with the Red Devils Roma Aprilia team.
The team is extending its technical relationship with the Italian Aprilia
factory and Haslam is excited at the prospect of the 2015 campaign.
Having taken sixth place in the championship as a privateer in 2009,
Haslam then finished runner-up in 2010 on a Suzuki and in 2011 gave BMW
its first top 10 finish with fifth place in the series.
His eighth place finish for BMW in 2012 was followed by a switch to Honda
for 2013 but a badly broken leg left him in a lowly 13th place at the end of
last year’s campaign.
Again with Honda, he finished seventh in this year’s World Championship
and is now set to make his debut on his new Aprilia machinery at the end
of this month at a test session in Spain.
“I’m happy to be joining Team Red Devils Roma Aprilia and believe we can
challenge for the 2015 World Superbike Championship,” said Haslam. “I’d
also like to thank everyone at the Pata Honda team for the past two years.”
He continued: “I’ve spent some time with the Red Devils general manager
Andrea Petricca and it’s clear that there is a passion to be on the top step
of the podium from day one.
“I’ve had six pretty solid seasons in the World Superbike Championship
and believe I’ve got the experience and ability to work with this team and
the championship-winning machine to challenge at the front.”
