Fresh from his debut British Superbike podium of the season just last weekend, and following his trip to the Isle of Man TT launch mid-week – Tyco Suzuki rider Josh Brookes is now anticipating the high-speed challenge of round two at Thruxton, which gets underway tomorrow [Friday].

How can we ever forget the Australian’s victory in last season’s British Superbike round at Thruxton during race two, coming from the fourth row of the grid to overhaul his rivals for one of the most memorable victories of the season.

Josh Brookes:

“Last year was pretty good for me at Thruxton with a podium in race one and that top step that everyone talked about in race two. If I remember rightly it was hard work, so as much as we will be looking for the wins again this weekend, qualifying strong is also important. We had an okay start at Brands last weekend but we have work to do, as has everyone else I suppose, but I know I have a good team and crew around me and the GSX-R1000, as we proved last year, is well up for the job.”

Philip Neill – Team Manager:

“Thruxton was good to us last year, but as Josh says it was hard work. It’s always hard work these days if I’m honest, but it’s the big efforts that pay off in the end. We cannot be too disappointed with our start at Brands, but there is certainly room for improvement. Thruxton this weekend is a total contrast to the tight little Indy circuit at Brands, and I think the change should suit both our riders. It’s going to be a tight championship as expected this year and nothing is gifted, but I’m confident we can be in there looking for podium finishes this weekend.”
