MotoGP Mugello: Vinales not worried by Rossi qualifying tow
23/05/2016
Ecstar Suzuki’s Maverick Vinales says he isn’t bothered that Valentino Rossi used him as a marker to set pole position at the Mugello MotoGP round and it was co-incidence they spent a lot of time on track together.
Jorge Lorenzo has accused the pair of working together but Vinales said that both he and Rossi like to leave pitlane late, and ttoday they just managed to do it at the same time.
“Normally I’m a rider that prefers to do a lap alone and with Valentino, I don’t know, sometimes like him that start really late, finally we exited together from the pit box. If I have to say something it’s that I don’t want to have traffic in the front and normally it works,” said Vinales, speaking at the track.
“I like to be late to start the practice because we normally have many riders and normally Valentino also starts really late. Anyway I felt really good on the bike and I am really relaxed after taking my decision and also the team is really working good, so I need to congratulate them because in this weekend they are doing a good job.
“For me, the important thing is that if I start when the lights go green, I have many, many riders and it is very difficult to concentrate, make one lap, and push at the limit.”
