Bastien Chesaux has scored a well-deserved third place in today’s first Superstock 600 race of 2013 at a warm, sunny and windy MotorLand Aragon in Spain. The EAB Ten Kate Junior Team rider had a very good start from fourth on the grid and was in third position after a hectic first lap at Aragon. The Swiss pushed every lap and was able the hold his position in a fantastic race. It is the second Superstock 600 podium for Chesaux, after Monza in 2012.
David Mcfadden was searching for a good setup of his Honda Fireblade. In addition, he was still working on his riding style as well. Because of all these adjustments, it is hard for Mcfadden to improve his lap times but he and his mechanics progression each session. At the end of the final qualification, the team and the rider found a good direction and therefore, they are optimistic for the race. The EAB Ten Kate Junior Team rider will start from fifteenth on the grid in tomorrow’s first Superstock 1000 race of 2013.
Bastien Chesaux (STK600): “It was a very hard race, with intense fights all race long but at the end, it is very nice to start the season with a podium finish. I had to push really hard and my bike was good, although we had some small problems in some areas. The third place gives me great confidence for the next races. I’m looking forward to Assen, the home race of my EAB Ten Kate Junior Team.”
David Mcfadden (STK1000): “To be honest, it cost me more time than expected to adapt me on the Fireblade. However, we must remain calm as it’s getting better and better. My team performed very well and that gives me a lot of confidence. At the end we found a good solution but, unfortunately, I could make only one fast lap due to some problems. The important thing is that we have found a solution that works well for us. I look forward to tomorrow’s race and will give all I have.”
