Olly Simpson Racing’s err Olly Simpson bagged his first victory on UK shores during the Motul British Motostar race at Brands Hatch this afternoon.
The Aussie also won the Moto3 class from Jordan Racing’s Jordan Weaving and Redline KTM’s Joe Irving. Even though Weaving didn’t nab the maximum 25 points he is still leading the Moto3 class from Irving.
But the race didn’t go the full distance as it was red flagged due to a crash involving RCD Motorsports Josh Owens and fellow 125 rider BARF Racing’s Anthony Alonso. They were involved in separate incidents at Hawthorns, and Owens was taken to the medical centre for assessment.
FAB Racing’s Bradley Ray finished fourth overall but clinched the 125 win, ahead of FPW Racing’s Taz Taylor and Banks Racing’s Edward Rendell. The Chelmsford based rider still leads the 125 class after finishing seventh overall at a hot GP circuit.
